We've done some preliminary cost/income analysis and are quite sure that the cost of admission doesn't have to average any more than $7... at most.  And even at that rate the business steward will sock away in excess of $25,000 a year.

The business organization being developed is to be a quasi - cooperative ... the underlying entity will likely be an LLC (Limited Liability Company) but functioning much like a co-op in terms of member ownership.  More on this as the specifics get written.  You can watch AND PARTICIPATE in thinking about the "Operating Agreement" by going to the "Idea Wiki" on this site

Its been said, repeatedly, that Austin Body Choir must be a non-profit in order to avoid sales tax on admisssions.  That is simply FALSE.  Why?

1. We have a reputable business lawyers opinion that our Dance doesn't fit one of the service categories which is liable for sales tax

3. No music club in town pays sales tax on admissions, nor do Yoga schools, etc.
